Before filling the admission form, you have to register by providing a valid e-mail address. This e-mail address will be used by you for receiving your password. After registration, login to NUST site for filling the admission form and subsequent correspondence with NUST on all matters related to admission.

  2. Protect your User ID and Password. Neither share it with anyone nor send it through e-mail (NUST will never ask you to do this).

  • Applications can be processed online from the NUST website (tentatively) in April 2020.
  • The last date for the submission of applications is May 2020.
  • Classes will commence from ​07 September 2020. ​
  • 18 years of education in related discipline as given below with minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0, 3.75/5.0 (in the Semester System) or First Division (in the Annual System) in M.Phil/MS/Equivalent with research work.The candidate should have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours out of which 24 credit hours must be coursework. Percentage will be valid only if the CGPA is not mentioned in degree/transcript.
  • Must have qualified one of the following:-
      For National/International Students
    • GAT (Subject) Test for Direct PhD programme by NTS (Score => 60%)
      IF NTS (Subject) Test is not offered in particular subject then NUST local GRE Subject type test (Score=>70%). Detail is available at ​​
      (It may be noted that NUST will only accept the scores of GAT (Subject), NTS conducted on or after September 02, 2017 for PhD admission Fall 2019 only.)

    • GRE(General) conducted by ETS, USA, with following minimum score separately in each section:-
      • Quantitative:-151/170
      • Verbal:-146/170
      • Analytical Writing: 3.5/6.0
  • MS/MPhil/Equivalent degree must be approved by HEC.
  • GRE/GAT score must be valid at the start of semester date/joining date of PhD programme
  • Foreign qualified candidates to provide recognition and equivalence certificate of MS/MPhil from HEC.
  • Percentage will be valid only if CGPA is not mentioned in degree / transcript
